Mais-Tauben (Corn Pigeons) refers to one of the Spanish names for Popcorn: Palomitas de Maíz.
The origin of this series comes from the memory of feeding pigeons as a child and thinking: ‘if pigeons only knew that Corn Pigeons existed’.
With the intention of using photographs of popcorn in a screen-printed work featuring this phrase, a long series of photographs emerged, exploring its beautiful uniqueness and diverse pictorial possibilities through the use of food coloring.
